Description

A youthful king’s son, Hafbur, awakens from a vivid dream of a heavenly realm where a beloved figure slips away on drifting clouds. Encouraged by his mother, he sets out for the mountains, hoping to win the hand of the proud elfin maiden whose presence haunted his sleep. The quest carries him into a world of ancient rivalries and whispered prophecies that bind his fate to the distant realm of the fae.

Arriving at a neighboring court, Hafbur seeks the skill of Siward’s daughter, a master of braiding, to prove his worth and learn her arts. Amid feasts and merriment he dazzles the assembled ladies with his own talent for stitching delicate figures of deer and birds, while indulging in wine that draws both admiration and envy. A sharp‑tongued servant challenges his prowess, setting the stage for a contest of skill and honor that will shape the young king’s path.
