Johan Albert Bergman (1844–1924), often listed as J. A. Bergman, was a Finnish teacher and writer. He was born in Lappfjärd and later studied at the University of Helsinki, graduating in 1869. Sources also note that he used the pen name J. A. B.
Alongside his literary work, he taught in Oulu and worked in journalism. Finnish reference sources describe him as a teacher, and one source notes that he served as editor of the newspaper Pohjois-Suomi during parts of its early history.
Bergman wrote fiction, poetry, and translations. Project Gutenberg lists works such as Nevalaiset, Sulikki, Aumolan emäntä, Nurmeksen kapina, Kalervo, and Kertomuksia, showing the range of his writing and the fact that his books remain accessible to modern readers.
