In a tightly secured research lab, the sudden, brutal murder of the project’s charismatic yet contemptible director shakes the entire team. The victim, Dr. Dudley Ballball, lies dead in the innermost, most guarded room—an area that houses Edith, a cutting‑edge computer whose relentless observation makes her the perfect witness to anything that happens.
When the police arrive, the scientists must decide whether to let the investigation interfere with the critical work that brought them together. Bill Green, the new project lead, powers up Edith and begins feeding her the data tapes, hoping the machine’s calculations will reveal what really happened. Meanwhile, rivalries, secret romances, and the ever‑looming threat of outside espionage add tension to an already volatile situation, setting the stage for a cerebral whodunit where a silicon mind may hold the key to the truth.
