Description

Six‑year‑old Willy steps onto a bustling railway station for the first time, bewildered by the roar of a steam engine and the strangers hustling luggage. Guided by his patient mother, he learns that the great metal beasts move without horses, powered by boiling water and a hidden fire that steams out like a cloud. His questions turn the journey into a lively lesson about power, speed, and the magic of modern travel.

As the train gathers speed, the countryside rushes past in a blur of tiny houses, sheep and fields that seem to shrink before his eyes. Each stop introduces new characters—a market girl, an innkeeper, a gardener—offering glimpses of life beyond the rails. Young listeners will share Willy’s awe, discovering how curiosity turns an ordinary trip into an unforgettable adventure through steam, scenery, and the simple joy of asking “why?”.
