ISONTALON SAMPPA JA KAAPERI:
At a dimming crossroads outside a small Finnish village, a handful of boisterous locals gather as night falls. Samppa, a rough‑handed farmhand, and Kaaperi, his accordion‑playing companion, lead the ragged band, while the mysterious Tahvana appears with bottles in hand, and the towering Kelolan Kalle arrives later, curious about the commotion. Their banter, full of folk songs and coarse humor, sets a vivid portrait of rural life at the turn of the twentieth century.
When Samppa interrupts a lingering song to propose a drunken raid on the nearby town of Kukko, the men plot to confront the local rogue Jeremias, who is rumored to be courting the village girl Katrine. Their scheme spirals into a chaotic march, recruiting Kelolan Kalle and coaxing Tahvana into leading the charge, all while jokes and improvised verses clash with the seriousness of their intent. Listeners are drawn into the lively clash between mischief and earnest rivalry, hearing each character’s distinct voice as the night’s plans unfold.
