Description

Born as the unwanted youngest child of an ancient, proud lineage, the narrator faces a world that views him as a wandering outcast from his first breath. His grandfather’s distinguished military legacy leaves a heavy mantle for the family, while his father—handsome, spirited, and adored by the court—struggles to balance a life of pleasure with a longing for lasting love. The story opens with the father’s ardent romance with a modest, charming girl, a relationship thwarted by the harsh calculus of fortune and social rank.

Against this backdrop, the young cadet must confront the weight of expectation and the sting of being labeled a misfit. As the family's fortunes sway, he embarks on a path through the military academy, eager to prove his worth and carve his own identity. Early chapters weave together family intrigue, youthful idealism, and the clash between pride and poverty, setting the stage for a journey that will test his courage, loyalty, and the true meaning of honor.
