Description

Two brothers from a modest Maine logging town hear the siren call of the Klondike and decide to chase the promise of gold that has set the whole nation buzzing. They first head south to California, where they reconnect with their seasoned uncle, a miner who knows the ropes and the risks. Together they plot a daring trek northward, gathering supplies and a motley crew of fellow fortune‑seekers before setting out for the frozen frontier.

The journey will test their resolve at every turn—crowded steamships across the Lynn Canal, the brutal climb over Chilkoot Pass, and the restless rivers that snake toward the Yukon’s heart. Along the way they face precarious weather, dubious companions, and the gnawing question of whether the glittering promise of gold can justify the harsh sacrifices required. Listeners will be swept into an authentic, vividly described adventure that captures the spirit of an era when men and boys dared to risk everything for a chance at wealth in the far‑off north.
