Description

In the elegant dining room of the Regal, a striking figure draws every eye—a pale, impeccably dressed man whose eyes are merely polished glass. Thornley Colton, a blind problem‑solver renowned for cracking impossible cases, moves through the crowd with a calm confidence that belies his darkness. His companion, the keen‑eyed secretary Sydney Thames, follows closely, ready to assist the masterful mind at work.

When a nervous young woman named Rhoda is introduced to him, Colton offers his usual courteous greeting, extending a hand that seems to convey more than touch alone. He explains that his blindness is a “concession” he asks of others, yet his other senses sharpen into a precise investigative tool. Listeners will be drawn into his first assignment of the night, a puzzling incident that promises to challenge the limits of perception and logic.
