Description

In the calm of early twentieth‑century London, while ladies’ shops and servants go about their routines, a far stranger drama unfolds in the heavens. Astral women from the pale pink planet Wenus watch Earth’s fashions with equal parts envy and ambition, fearing their own world’s heat will melt even the most elaborate dresses. Their whispered plans for an inter‑stellar fashion campaign set the stage for a playful clash of cultures that feels both absurd and oddly urgent.

The story is narrated by a bemused chronicler who, after a chance encounter with the eccentric astronomer Swears, begins to track the odd lights and “cosmic chuckles” emitted by Wenus as it drifts sunward. Through late‑night observations in a basement observatory, he describes the bewildering sights—expanding stars, dual skirts of light, and a sudden storm that coincides with the planet’s hostile approach. The tone remains witty and slightly satirical, inviting listeners to imagine a world where celestial etiquette and runway rivalries collide.
