Description

High above the roaring Ache in the Oetz valley, a solitary figure balances on a razor‑thin cliff, her silhouette sharp against the Alpine sky. Locals call her the Vulture Maiden, a name earned from a childhood clash with a soaring bird and her uncanny fearlessness. The opening scene sets a stark, wind‑blown landscape where a passing traveler and his guide first glimpse the legend perched on the edge of the world.

The story follows the girl—strong, beautiful, and raised as a warrior by her exacting father, the former champion wrestler Stromminger—who refuses the conventional role expected of women in her remote Tyrolean village. Though admired for her prowess, she is also isolated, drawing both awe and resentment from the men who dare approach her. As the narrative unfolds, listeners are drawn into her struggle between the harsh discipline of her upbringing and the yearning for a life beyond the narrow mountain plateau.
