Transcriber's Note:
In the cold silence beyond Mars, two alien agents hover in a sleek ship, desperate to pierce the impenetrable mind‑shields that cloak humanity’s most guarded projects. Riuku’s scans return only blank, while his partner Nagor presses for any fragment of information that might reveal a hidden weapon. Their mission teeters between curiosity and survival—if they cannot learn the secret, they must abandon the solar system altogether.
Back on Earth, the ordinary hum of a downtown bar masks a dangerous game of subterfuge. Pete Ganley watches Alice Hendricks slip a forged shield tag into her coveralls, daring to cheat the protective system that keeps the world’s clandestine research safe. Their banter is light, but the stakes are heavy: a single compromised shield could expose the very weapon the alien duo is hunting.
Both sides scramble through layers of deception, each trying to outwit the other before the unknown technology reshapes the balance of power. The tension builds as covert contacts grow thinner and the mystery deepens.
