Description

Across the endless Karoo, a flock of oxen, cows, and massive fat‑tailed sheep trudge beneath a moonlit sky. Leading them are three Dutch‑born farmers—Jan, Hans, and Klaas—who have fled British rule in the Transvaal, hoping to carve a new life beyond the Limpopo. Their caravan, a line of towering wagons shielded by canvas and bamboo, carries not just livestock but whole families, herdsmen, and fierce dogs. The harsh, treeless plain offers little water, making every night‑time mile a fragile triumph over thirst and heat.

The journey promises more than a simple crossing; the Vee‑Boers must navigate hostile terrain, unpredictable floods, and the wary eyes of the powerful Tebelé chief who once welcomed them. Old friendships with local leaders hint at uneasy alliances, while the remote wilderness tests their resolve with each sunrise. Listeners will share in the camaraderie of the convoy, the relentless drive of the oxen, and the raw beauty of a landscape that is both unforgiving and awe‑inspiring.
