Description

In the rugged summer of 1262, the mist‑clad shores of Bute whisper of ancient feuds and looming war. Young Kenric, a sturdy son of the earl, spends his days hunting along the streams while his heart is pulled toward Ailsa, the wistful girl who tends the shy songbirds of the heather. Their simple exchange over a stolen stoat quickly reveals a world where folklore and the harsh reality of clan loyalties already clash.

The calm of the island is shattered when rumors of a Norse fleet gathering beyond the western seas reach the earldom, and a solemn oath of vengeance is taken by a grieving warrior. As scouts return with tales of dark forests and foreign banners, Kenric must choose between the safety of his love and the call to defend his people. Listeners will be drawn into a vivid tapestry of medieval Scotland, where personal honor and looming invasion intertwine.
