CHAPTER I - THE MYSTERIOUS SNIPER
CHAPTER II - THE UNIFORM OF THE PLAINS
In the rugged foothills of Wyoming, a small cavalry outpost stirs before sunrise. Old Birkenshaw and his companion Isa Blagg keep a wary eye on the surrounding woods, recalling the exploits of Kiddie, the legendary scout whose uncanny sight and hearing once saved the camp from hidden danger. Though now rumored to be living in England’s high society, his reputation haunts the frontier, and the men wonder whether he will ever return.
The calm is shattered when the distant thundering of hooves breaks the silence. The riders suspect a raid by Broken Feather’s band, intent on stealing prized horses—including an Arab mare gifted years ago. As the posse readies its six guns, the mystery of Kiddie’s whereabouts and the looming threat converge, promising a tense showdown that will test loyalty, courage, and the thin line between myth and reality.
