Description

On the remote, windswept island of St. Helena, a restless sailor named Domingo Gonsales spends years mapping its cliffs, valleys and bustling harbor. When a Spanish fleet is chased by English warships, he seizes the chaos to ready an extraordinary contraption—an aircraft drawn by a flock of giant geese he has trained for the impossible. With the ship wrecked on the rocks of Tenerife, Gonsales and his avian allies lift off, soaring above sea and storm toward a destination no one has imagined.

Their daring ascent delivers them to the Moon, where Gonsales discovers a civilization of luminous beings living under crystal domes. He is welcomed by regal emperors and curious princes who share their language, customs and astonishing treasures of jeweled gifts. After a brief, awe‑inspiring stay among the lunar courts, Gonsales begins his return, guided by his faithful geese toward the distant shores of Earth.
