Description

At Beechcroft Academy, senior Bert Middleton finds his world turned upside‑down when his father arranges for a distant cousin, Hansel Dana, to move in with him for the school year. Bert, the practical manager of the football team and a steady presence among his peers, is suddenly faced with a tiny, shabby top‑floor room that feels more like a storage closet than a student’s quarters. The uneasy welcome sets the stage for a clash of personalities: Bert’s no‑nonsense, hometown grit meets Hansel’s quiet, book‑loving demeanor.

As the new term begins, both boys are drawn into the bustling life of the school—practice drills, classroom banter, and the unspoken pressure of living up to a reputation as a former team captain. Bert’s attempts to keep everything running smoothly are tested by Hansel’s unfamiliar ways and the awkwardness of sharing space with someone so different yet oddly similar. Their growing friendship promises both comic mishaps and moments of genuine camaraderie, revealing how a single school year can reshape expectations and forge unexpected bonds.
