Description

A group of eager friends from the Riverdale Outing Club spends their afternoons racing motorcycles and watching the chaos of a reckless driver test his new automobile. When Maxey Solomons, the wealthy son of a local manufacturer, loses control of his drab‑painted car on a winding country road, the Speedwell brothers and their companions leap into action, trying to keep the vehicle from plunging off the riverbank. Their quick thinking and teamwork turn a near‑disaster into the first taste of the daring challenges that lie ahead.

The boys soon discover that the erratic driver isn’t the only threat on the road. A mysterious “golden cup” race looms, promising fame and a hefty prize, while rumors of a bank robbery and shadowy figures stalk the countryside. With each twist of the road, the Speedwell boys must balance courage, ingenuity, and the thrill of speed, setting the stage for a high‑octane adventure that will test their friendship and skill.

Behind this name was a whole publishing machine: a house pseudonym used for fast-moving boys' adventure stories packed with lost worlds, inventions, and jungle drama. The books helped shape early 20th-century series fiction, especially for young readers who loved cliffhangers and big imagination.
