Description

In the deep green of Mendocino’s redwood country, spring awakens a world of towering trunks, rustling streams, and the scent of fresh fungi. Uncle Sebastian Burris, a weather‑worn wanderer, trudges along a narrow track until he reaches a sun‑dappled creek where he spots a young man tossing pebbles into the water. The youth, Hiram Hooker, greets him with a lazy drawl, his blue eyes bright against the backdrop of alders and huckleberries, setting a tone of easy camaraderie that hints at deeper ties to the land.

Their brief reunion opens a doorway to a larger story of ambition and rivalry in a frontier that is both beautiful and unforgiving. As Hiram pulls Sebastian down to the water’s edge, talk turns to the upcoming trout season, local gossip, and the secret plans of a woman known as Lucy, whose aspirations may reshape the valley’s future. Listeners are invited to follow these characters as they navigate friendship, opportunity, and the inevitable challenges that arise when dreams clash with the harsh realities of the West.
