Description

At the prestigious Riverpark Military Academy, the spring sun glints off polished brass breastplates as a line of cadets in dark blue uniforms executes flawless maneuvers. Under the watchful eye of Major Drumlist, the boys practice the latest Upton infantry tactics, their muskets gleaming and feet marching in perfect unison. The academy prides itself on being the finest drill ground outside West Point, and the daily routines are a testament to that reputation.

Yet beneath the crisp cadence, tension simmers. Sixteen‑year‑old Adjutant Brightly, newly tasked with leading a platoon, struggles to command respect, his impatience flaring when a wayward cadet named Belcher repeatedly breaks formation. The stern reprimands and a clanging sword strike hint at deeper frustrations among the young soldiers, setting the stage for an unexpected challenge to the academy’s strict order. Whispers of dissent begin to circulate, suggesting that the disciplined ranks may soon be tested by the very youths they aim to shape.
