Description

Joe Johnson is a bright fifteen‑year‑old from Lockport who has earned his very own bicycle through odd jobs and school chores. When his friend Dick Burns, the charismatic son of the town’s leading lawyer, invites him on a moonlit ride to Greenpoint, the pair set off under a full‑bright sky, eager to test their speed and skill. The journey takes them over rolling hills, across sparkling river valleys, and into the thrill of racing the night wind.

Unseen, a jealous schoolmate, Lemuel Akers, watches the boys, plotting a trick that could turn their carefree adventure into trouble. As Joe and Dick tackle the steep climb of Bacon Hill and then coast down in daring tandem, the night becomes a test of courage, friendship, and the raw joy of riding a bike for the first time without fear. Listeners will feel the rush of wheels on moonlit roads and the promise of youthful rivalry waiting just beyond the next bend.
