The Red Gods

In the winding alleys of Saigon, a young French official finds himself drawn into a secretive opium den, where the scent of exotic incense and the murmur of distant voices hint at mysteries far beyond the bustling city. As he hesitates at the heavy teak door, an unexpected encounter with a gaunt, cloaked figure pulls him deeper into a world where colonial duty collides with the allure of the unknown.

Soon he joins a daring river expedition, guided by native companions who speak of a lost tribe cloaked in crimson hair, living high in the Annamite mountains. Among the jungle’s shadows he meets Jieng, a powerful sorceress, and Wanda, his own sister, whose fates become tangled with the tribe’s enigmatic customs. Together they wrestle with the lure of ancient deities, the peril of untamed wilderness, and a romance that blossoms amid the whispers of red‑haired ghosts.
