Description

A sun‑lit Sicilian cottage frames a gentle, wrinkled grandmother whose smile seems to hold centuries of stories, while her nineteen‑year‑old grandson, Mariano, argues passionately about his future. He dreams of the open sea rather than the cloistered life his family has mapped out for him, and his lively banter with his sister‑like Juliet reveals a youthful yearning for freedom that clashes with his father's clerical ambitions.

The household swells with vivid personalities—a stout, weather‑kissed patriarch, a mysterious stranger, and Mariano’s solemn older brother Lucien, each embodying a different path. As the family prepares for what they call their “last voyage” to Malta, the promise of adventure, duty, and the distant allure of pirate legends begins to stir, hinting at a journey where loyalty and longing will be tested on the restless Mediterranean waves.
