Description

In a cramped Soho lodging house, a secretive German flutist drifts between rehearsals and whispered rumors. His distant, melancholy playing masks a past that none of his orchestra mates truly understand, while his beautiful daughter, Anna, lives almost entirely unseen behind the thin walls of their modest flat. The landlady and her chatty maid spin wild theories—perhaps he is a disgraced aristocrat, perhaps a harmless foreigner—each conjecture adding a layer of tension to the everyday bustle of the neighborhood.

As the house’s occupants gossip, the subtle clash of cultures and the lingering threat of political unrest begin to stir unease. The servant’s fascination with the enigmatic girl grows, and the old flutist’s quiet dignity starts to draw attention beyond the music hall. Listeners are invited into a world where music, mystery, and the cramped intimacy of London’s tenements intertwine, promising a story that unfolds as delicately as a single, lingering note.
