The moon era

Stephen has spent years under the shadow of his brilliant uncle, whose experimental machine may make the impossible a reality: escape from Earth and travel to the Moon. With its coils, copper disks, automatic life-support systems, and finely calibrated controls, the machine seems ready for its first great journey. Stephen, however, is less concerned with danger than with the chance to see what humanity has only dreamed of reaching.

As the launch approaches, his uncle’s affection and anxiety grow, while an engineer warns that earlier self-contained models vanished into another dimension. Rather than discourage Stephen, the possibility of unknown worlds intensifies his excitement. Beneath the moonlit roof of the laboratory, he takes his place inside the gleaming craft, knowing that a single movement of his hand will carry him beyond the familiar world—and perhaps beyond the boundaries of reality itself.
