Description

A solitary wanderer trudges across a scorching heath, his weathered coat and careful manners hinting at a past far richer than his current poverty. When the sun finally rolls behind a distant village, he slips into the modest tavern “The Good Samaritan,” where a sharp‑tongued landlady and a sturdy pot‑boy greet him with suspicion and curiosity. He asks merely for bread, cheese, and ale, but the brief exchange sparks an uneasy atmosphere that suggests hidden motives among the simple inn‑folk.

The newcomer’s arrival coincides with whispered rumors of a missing key, strange disappearances, and a reclusive millionaire whose fortune has become a puzzle. As the tramp settles into the dimly lit rooms, he senses that his seemingly ordinary stop may be the first step toward unraveling a tangled web of secrets and danger lurking beneath the village’s quiet façade. Listeners are drawn into a world where every character could be friend or foe, and a single coin toss may tip the balance between hope and hardship.
