Description

Three spirited youths set off on a brisk December afternoon, gliding across a flawless frozen lake toward a lonely lighthouse. Aleck, barely eighteen and skilled with brass, leads his younger sister Kate and their twelve‑year‑old brother Jim, who boasts a knack for numbers and endless energy. Their laughter echoes over the ice as they cover miles of glittering surface, reveling in the rare freedom of a bright, cloud‑softened day. When they finally return to their modest cottage, the glow of lamplight and the crackle of an oak fire welcome them home, sealing a memory of youthful daring.

Soon the winter deepens, and the frozen world they loved turns hostile. Stranded on the ice, the trio must rely on wits and each other to fend off hunger, relentless cold, and the untamed wilderness that prowls the shoreline. Their adventure evolves from carefree skating to a test of resilience, as they learn to fashion shelter, track scarce game, and confront mysterious threats that emerge from the shimmering white expanse.
