Description

Trapped beneath a massive, silver‑lined dome on Mercury, Earth’s outpost fights for survival against a ruthless bird‑man from Mars and his swarming pigmies. Darl Thomas, a lean, bronze‑skinned commander, patrols the fragile habitat with his trusted control‑man Jim Holcomb, keeping a wary eye on the ever‑present danger of the planet’s hostile environment. The dome’s engineered lattice holds back a scorching vacuum, but any breach could spell disaster for the handful of humans and their Venusian laborers working in the underground tunnels.

When a sudden leak tears a gaping hole in the dome’s inner surface, Darl scrambles into a gyrocopter, racing against a howling wind and dwindling oxygen to seal the breach. He weaves through trembling steel girders, clinging to a sheet of quartzite while Jim frantically guides him from below. The tense chase pits human ingenuity against the relentless pull of Mercury’s merciless atmosphere, setting the stage for a desperate battle to keep the outpost—and its fragile hope—alive.
