Description

Ada Nicoli lives in the glittering world of late‑nineteenth‑century New York, where her father’s Wall Street fortunes buy her a life of carriages, jewels and endless admiration. Raised by a mother who prizes appearance over learning, Ada’s days are spent drifting through Central Park in elegant dresses, while her formal education remains a mere afterthought. Though beautiful and charming, she remains unaware that the comforts of her privileged existence may soon be challenged by the responsibilities she has been denied.

The story opens on a bright summer afternoon, when a sudden change in her mother’s mood hints at tensions simmering beneath the surface of their lavish routine. As Ada receives word that her mother is ill and cannot join dinner, the carefree rhythm of her life begins to wobble, offering a glimpse of the inner conflict that will shape her future. Listeners are invited to follow Ada’s journey from a pampered teenager to a young woman confronting the expectations placed upon her.
