Description

A lone British frigate prowls the Pacific, its red‑white flag cutting a stark silhouette against a wind‑filled sky. Ahead, a Chilean‑flagged barque darts forward with every canvas full, its signal of distress oddly reversed yet refusing to slow or signal for help. The crew of the warship watches in uneasy silence, puzzled by a vessel that seems both in peril and deliberately outrunning its would‑be rescuers.

When the frigate’s crew finally close the distance, they encounter a startling sight: two figures clambering onto the rigging, their bodies wrapped in skin‑like garments and speaking in harsh, animal‑like croaks. The mysterious men, the strange flag, and the baffling behavior of the chased ship stir rumors of superstition and hidden danger among the sailors. As night deepens, the English officers must decide whether to press their pursuit, offer aid, or retreat from a mystery that could rewrite their understanding of the sea’s most secret currents.
