Description

In a time before ice and fire, a nameless Great Spirit set a lone man and a radiant maiden upon a barren world, sparking an endless chase across frozen mountains and silent seas. Their pursuit, driven by fierce love and trembling fear, ends at the edge of the earth where the maiden ignites into the sun and the youth fades into the moon. From their celestial union springs life—seals, whales, grasses, and the laughter of people—while a lurking darkness watches, ever jealous of the joy the lovers bring.

Centuries later, an Eskimo community gathers on a windswept shore, preparing kayaks and harpoons for the hunt that sustains them. Their careful work, from weaving seal‑skin floats to sharpening flint points, is tinged with the ancient legend that still whispers in the night sky. As the moon glows above, the tribe feels the lingering pull of that eternal, unfulfilled love, a quiet promise that guides their lives.
