Description

A sweeping, verse‑driven portrait opens with the apostle’s sudden plunge from the bustling streets of Jerusalem into a deadly conspiracy. The poem’s first act captures Paul’s arrest by the Sanhedrin, the swirl of hostility that nearly ends his life, and the dramatic rescue by a Roman officer who thrust him into chains rather than a tomb. Through vivid dialogue and lyrical description, the narrative presents the tension between fervent Jewish opposition and the lingering respect of his former teachers.

Soon, the story expands as Paul’s sister Rachel and the young Stephen—guided by the elder scholar Gamaliel—uncover a plot hatched by the enigmatic Shimei. Their quick thinking averts a murder, while Paul, still shackled, seizes a rare moment on the castle steps to address the crowd in Hebrew. This tense opening sets the tone for an epic that interweaves faith, politics, and personal transformation, inviting listeners to hear the early struggles that shape a figure whose later journeys become legend.
