Description

Set against the bleak, storm‑tossed Highlands of early 1306, the story opens in the weather‑worn Tower of Buchan, a ramshackle fortress that has grown over generations. Inside, a small band of Scotsmen prepares for the inevitable clash with English forces, their armor clanking and banners unfurling amid a restless wind. The opening scenes paint a vivid picture of a land on the brink, where every gust seems to echo the looming conflict.

Through the turmoil we meet three women whose lives reflect the era’s hardships and hopes. Isabella of Buchan bears a wounded heart yet remains steadfast, while Isoline’s confidence drives her into self‑inflicted sorrow, and gentle Agnes embodies a purity that struggles against harsh reality. Their intertwined stories offer a portrait of courage, sacrifice, and the quiet strength that fuels Scotland’s fight for freedom.
