Description

A young doctor on the cusp of his first professional appointment takes a leisurely walk through the quiet, amber‑lit woods of Highgate. While exploring a hidden pond, he encounters a striking, solitary young woman searching the underbrush—a sight that both unnerves and fascinates him. Her sudden appearance sparks a curiosity that pulls the narrator away from his peaceful holiday and into an unfamiliar tangle of questions.

That fleeting meeting becomes the catalyst for a puzzling investigation. Joined by the analytical Dr. Thorndyke and a diligent police inspector, the doctor finds himself drawn into a series of odd clues, secretive conversations, and unsettling discoveries that hint at something far more complex than a simple stroll. Listeners are invited to follow his methodical reasoning and the growing sense of danger as the mystery deepens, all set against the atmospheric backdrop of the woods and the looming unknown.
