Description

In a dusty frontier town, a young man named Donald steps out of a jail cell only to face his father's cold rejection. The sheriff, a reluctant mentor, offers a modest loan and a bruised chance at redemption, reminding Donald of his glory days on the high school football field. With his family's name tarnished by gambling and drinking, Donald must decide whether to drift into the shadows or chase a fresh purpose beyond the town's cracked streets.

The story follows his uneasy night at the Hancock House, where restless thoughts and a cold bath punctuate a restless morning. As the winter sun filters through cracked windows, Donald watches the town's undercurrent of gamblers, outlaws, and weary laborers, each harboring their own codes of honor. Listeners are invited to travel with him through smoky saloons and open plains, feeling the weight of a son’s shame and the faint hope of a new beginning.
