Description

In the frosty town of Piperock, the holidays arrive with a swirl of snow, cheap whiskey, and a stubborn sense of loyalty. Ike Harper drops in on his old friend Dirty Shirt Jones, a wiry drifter with a crooked nose and a reputation for chaos, and the diminutive Scenery Sims, a hard‑bitten devil with a bald crown and button‑eyes. Their banter over frozen limbs and misplaced repentance sets a comic, rough‑hewn tone that feels as sturdy as the town’s single pine tree.

Together they grapple with winter’s bite while dreaming of a quick fortune from Plenty Stone Creek, only to be forced back into the town’s saloon heat. Amid broken vows and half‑hearted prayers, Dirty vows to rebuild a church that never had a bell, planning to sell a horseless carriage to fund the effort. Meanwhile Scenery’s ill‑advised purchase of a moth‑eaten camel adds a layer of absurdity to their already tangled schemes, promising more mischief before the season’s end.
