Description

Ben Clark is eager to leave Brooklyn aboard the schooner Sea Queen, bound for the waters near Mexico, but the ship’s cook, Jake, is far less confident about the voyage. Jake knows Captain Irwin as a capable sailor, yet suspects the captain is hiding something about why he accepted this particular command. As the tug pulls the heavily laden schooner away from the dock, Ben finds himself caught between youthful excitement and growing uneasiness.

The journey soon carries Ben and Jake far from familiar shores, into a world of tropical seas, shifting winds, treacherous reefs, and isolated islands. Along the way, they must rely on quick thinking, courage, and one another as ordinary adventures at sea take on a more serious cast. With mysterious happenings, unexpected dangers, and the constant challenge of survival, this nautical tale offers an appealing blend of suspense, exploration, and youthful resilience.
