Description

Bessie King, a country girl who’s never known the comforts of city life, arrives at a splendid home with her new friend Zara, a city‑raised Camp Fire Girl. The girls marvel at the elegant rooms while adjusting to the bustling world of the Camp Fire organization, guided by the warm‑hearted Guardian Eleanor Mercer. Together they discover that their shared curiosity and willingness to learn each other’s ways quickly turn strangers into true companions.

Eleanor promises the girls a surprise—a farm unlike any they have ever imagined, far removed from the harsh conditions they left behind. Though whispers of the stern Farmer Weeks linger, the promise of a “proper” farm sparks excitement and a sense of adventure for the girls. As they await the upcoming Council Fire at the farm, Bessie and Zara begin to see how friendship, courage, and a fresh perspective can reshape their lives.
