Description

In the restless twilight of the 1880s, a sixteen‑year‑old boy awakens to a storm‑blasted night on the edge of the Oklahoma frontier. Alone in a crowded boomers’ wagon, he discovers his father has vanished into the darkness, and the restless crowd around him is bristling with ambition, fear, and the promise of unclaimed land. The boy’s desperate search introduces him to a rugged world of rattling wagons, soaked canvas, and the looming presence of Pawnee Brown—a seasoned scout whose knowledge of both the Indians and the untamed prairie makes him a trusted guide for the hopeful settlers.

As the rain lashes the plain, the young adventurer finds himself swept into a daring rush to claim a piece of the promised territory. Alongside his father’s companions and the charismatic boomers, he must navigate treacherous weather, rival cattle interests, and the raw edge of lawlessness. The opening chapters blend vivid frontier hardship with the excitement of a race against time, setting the stage for a journey that tests courage, loyalty, and the resolve to carve a new life from the wild Oklahoma land.
