Description

When powerful railroad magnate Gabriel Warden suddenly seems on edge one cold February evening, the atmosphere in his Seattle mansion turns tense. He receives a cryptic telephone call about a train arriving from Vancouver, then summons a mysterious young visitor he has never met, insisting the meeting be held in his smoking room. Warden's unusual nervousness and the urgent plea for his wife's counsel hint at a secret that could jeopardize his empire.

As the night unfolds, the household’s staff—especially the observant Japanese doorman Kondo—witness a web of hidden motives, strained alliances, and a looming threat that reaches beyond the walls of the estate. The blind man’s eyes become a metaphor for those who must see through deception, while the characters grapple with loyalty, power, and the cost of confronting unseen enemies. Listeners will be drawn into a tightly plotted early‑twentieth‑century mystery that balances suspense with vivid portraiture of Seattle’s high‑society undercurrents.
