Description

Steve’s reckless gamble with his family’s car sets the stage for a lesson in responsibility that quickly spirals into excitement. After convincing his friends to join a spontaneous trip to a football game, he finds the vehicle stalled on a hill, stranded and facing a costly repair. As his peers abandon him, Steve’s frustration turns to reflection, and the silent countryside becomes a backdrop for his growing awareness of the consequences of his choices.

When help finally arrives, it introduces Steve to a world far beyond the ordinary garage—a lively steam engine that promises new horizons. The young boy’s curiosity is sparked, and he begins to see the marvel of engineering not just as a distant invention but as a tangible force that could reshape his outlook. Through the early mishap and the unexpected encounter, listeners are invited to follow Steve’s journey from youthful folly toward a deeper appreciation of invention, perseverance, and the boundless possibilities of the early twentieth‑century rail age.
