Description

In a restless borderland where clashing armies and whispered enchantments meet, the valiant knight Roger joins forces with two fellow warriors of Clermont on a desperate mission to free the captive brothers Maugis and Vivian. Their path leads them to a battlefield scarred by a recent defeat of the Mayençais and their Moorish allies, where a solitary figure—Marphise—appears, offering both sword and counsel. As the knights confront the looming threat of a massive Saracen host, the tension of impending combat is palpable, and the promise of rescue hangs in the balance.

Amid the turmoil, the ancient fountain of Merlin reveals its secret carvings, and Maugis employs his mystic arts to calm a quarrel among the pagan fighters. The narrative also reflects on timeless virtues, praising those who cherish honor over wealth, embodied by the noble Bradamante. With alliances forming and challenges mounting, the heroes set their sights on the road toward Paris, where new trials await.
