Description

Reuben Stone finds himself thrust into the role of mill manager when his father heads west in search of new opportunities. The once‑thriving mill at Torrent Bend now creaks under overdue bills, and impatient creditors pile on the pressure. Reuben must keep the grindstones turning, ferry grain to distant markets, and keep his workers fed, all while the town whispers about his father’s sudden departure. The weight of responsibility tests his resolve and forces him to grow up faster than he expected.

Soon strange rumors reach his ears, suggesting the mill’s troubles hide deeper secrets. Distrustful yet determined, Reuben decides to leave the safety of the mill and follow the clues, putting him on a path that leads to unexpected confrontations and hidden dangers. Along the way he discovers allies in unlikely places and learns that courage often means standing up for what is right, even when the odds are stacked against him. Listeners will be drawn into his spirited quest for truth and justice, rooting for the young miller as he battles both external threats and his own doubts.
