In the summer of 1935 the United States stages its most ambitious war game yet, a dazzling aerial showdown over the Panama Canal. Lieutenant Christopher “Chris” Travers pilots a sleek scout from the massive dirigible ZX‑1, soaring above a sea dotted with toy‑like ships and rival airships. As the Blue Fleet sweeps the horizon, the young aviator’s sharp eyes lock onto the faint plume of smoke that marks the approaching Black Fleet, and he transmits the coordinates that could turn the exercise into a spectacular display of power.
