Rago, twelve, and his sister Goni, seven, belong to a lineage that makes the treetops their only home. In a distant, ancient forest they sleep in woven vines and strong branches, while their mother carries their baby sister on her back. When two huge panthers appear at the foot of their oak, the children must awaken, move silently, and climb to safety, showing the quick instincts that guide their daily lives.
After the danger passes, the family turns to the routine of building new beds from cedar branches, scouting the ground for predators, and planning a hunt for breakfast. Their world is filled with wild horses on the plains, a massive cave bear, and the constant challenge of finding food and shelter among the trees. Listeners are invited to follow Rago and Goni as they learn to weave, race, and survive, discovering the rhythm of a life lived high above the forest floor.
