Transcriber's Note:
In the dim Owl Limb Night Club, a midnight act promises more than music. When dancer Sylvia Fanton glides onto the stage, she cradles a massive diamond that flashes like captive sunrise, instantly holding every patron in a trance. Club owner George Lardner and his uneasy lieutenant Jim Drake watch with a mix of awe and suspicion, aware the stone is said to sustain an entire alien race. As the lights flicker, the gem’s fire seems to stir something deeper.
Puffy Adams, the burly bartender, drags a confused Drake away just as the club’s power sputters, hinting the gem may have triggered more than applause. Their hurried exit leads them to Mary, the checkroom attendant, who hands Drake an opulent silver‑fox cape that feels oddly linked to the night’s mystery. Rumors whisper of a hidden civilization whose fate hinges on the “flaming diamond,” suggesting the stone is far from a mere showpiece. With tension rising, listeners wonder whether the jewel will illuminate a secret or spark a perilous quest.
