A wandering storyteller sets out from the familiar streets of Vaasa, joining a lively crew for an expedition across the wild north. Their route snakes along the shimmering Kemijärvi, through the rugged Tukkikämpä and the mist‑laden waters of the Askahan, before reaching the remote outposts of Lapland’s kingly towns and the quiet villages of Sorankylä. Along the way the narrator shares vivid sketches of icy bays, bustling fishing harbors, and the simple joys of casting a line with a loyal, shaggy companion.
The journey continues into the heart of Petsamo, where towering cliffs meet the Arctic sea and the landscape feels both untouched and full of stories. Encounters with local hunters, monks, and hardy traders paint a portrait of a community living on the edge of the world, while humorous mishaps with gear and stubborn fish add a light‑hearted charm. Listeners are invited to taste the crisp northern air, hear the call of gulls over frozen lakes, and feel the quiet awe of a place where the horizon seems to stretch forever.
