A cloistered Jesuit convent becomes an unexpectedly noisy courtroom as a handful of priests argue over a mysterious, sealed letter written in Latin. Their lofty vows clash with petty grievances, and the ritual chants quickly turn into a barbed debate about curses, inheritance, and the fate of a young boy destined for the household. The dialogue crackles with dark humor, mixing solemn liturgy with snide insults, giving listeners a vivid taste of monastic life gone awry.
Meanwhile, in the convent’s kitchen, two ragged students, János and Samu, eavesdrop from the fire‑pit and scramble for scraps among the discarded dishes. Their earthy banter and desperate search for food contrast sharply with the clerics’ pretentious latin, highlighting a world where survival and piety intersect in the most unlikely ways. Together, these parallel scenes set up a satirical portrait of authority, faith, and the human impulses that quietly undermine both.
