On the ragged edge of a larger city a tiny, wind‑blown peninsula juts into the sea, its cramped wooden cottages and uneven cobblestones casting long shadows in the dim light. The inhabitants—weather‑worn carpenters, retired sailors and a handful of elderly folk—lead a quiet, almost forgotten life, punctuated by the occasional roar of an autumn storm that drifts up from the salty river. By day they trade stories of restless ghosts and mischievous elves, and by night they tend lanterns while the ever‑present mist swallows the shoreline.
Into this stubborn routine arrives Toivos, once a close confidant of the city’s governor, now a weary wanderer who has claimed a crumbling house on the edge as his own. His presence unsettles the tight‑knit community, stirring whispered questions about his past and the strange noises that follow him after the wind dies down. As the first heavy rains begin to swell the sea, the locals find themselves drawn into a subtle rivalry between old superstitions and the faint promise of change.
