A ten‑strong band of old friends from Lisbon gathers in the spring, intent on escaping the city for the romantic lure of Cintra’s countryside. Their excuse is to hear the elusive rouxinoes, folk melodies that once cradled their youthful nights, while indulging in local treats like Sapa’s cheese pastries and the Viscount’s oranges. The plan is half‑serious, half‑playful, tinged with the nostalgia of a past that still feels nearer than their present lives.
The group’s personalities clash and mingle: the seasoned traveler Vasconcellos, the flamboyant Leotte, the idealistic poet‑in‑training Gonçallinho, and the pragmatic Athayde, each with their own quirks and small grievances. Before they set off, they agree that every night in Cintra will be a round of storytelling, a “partie de plaisir” where each will spin a tale. Their banter and tentative camaraderie promise a light‑hearted, slice‑of‑life adventure, as much about the journey and the company as about the music they hope to hear.
