Description

A grim murder in a modest Washington rectory pulls the legendary detective into a labyrinth of mystery. When Father Cleary is found dead in his library, the police chief grants Nick Carter unrestricted authority, pairing him with seasoned Detective Fallon. Their uneasy partnership forces Carter to balance a pressing government assignment with the urgent need to uncover clues that the local authorities have missed.

As they race to the newly built St. Lawrence Church, the case hints at deeper undercurrents in the city’s poorer districts. Carter’s keen eye spots connections to recent spy chases and old criminal acquaintances, suggesting that the priest’s death may be entangled with larger, unseen forces. Listeners will be drawn into a tense investigation where every revelation could cost the detective more than just his time.
